~ Our land is on the "woods edge"~ Our farm first started 15 years ago with 2 Mallard hens, Golden comet laying hens and 2 Golden comet roosters. Our farm has grown and prospered since then, We have been showing our birds for about 11 years receiving our first Champion titles in 2001 with a pair of Golden Comet Roosters and a Market Turkey. Since 2001 we have raised and sold more than 300 champion bred chickens, ducks, geese, and both Market and Breeding Turkeys, and that number continues to rise. We take pride in our stock and buy the best we can, at times we have birds that are not meeting our expectations and we sell them as cheap pets or just breeder quality. Our goal is to have the best so we can sell the best offspring to you. We have many different varieties of poultry around our farm; we have some breeds just as "hobby" birds. In 2009 we started raising Lion Lop (Mini Lop X Lion Head) and Pure Lion Head Rabbits, We raise 3-4 litters each year, usually around the Holidays. We will raise more litters if we get a big enough demand for them, but we like to make sure we have enough homes for our babies before we breed for them. By 2011 We sold out of our Lion lops and started breeding pure lion heads, and added our first breeding pair of Blue Eyed rabbits (Riley a blue eyed white and Lexi a Blue tort Blue eye vienna marked doe)by October 2011. Our passion for Lion heads has started to grow since breeding our blue eyed rabbits, they all have such great personalities. Have a look around we know you’ll be pleased and if you see any thing you like even if its not on the sale page ask we may sell it to you!
(Butch was a 1998 Golden Comet rooster) Butch was the 1st Champion of our farm. Sadly Butch no longer resides on our farm he passed away two days after "celebrating his 12th birthday." His brother with whom he was 2001 Grand Champion Breeding Rooster sadly passed away in 2004. Butch's Red Comet hen"Lucy" (pictured above) who is 8 years old, still resides on our farm with a fair few of her and Butch’s offspring. Butch passed away on Feb 9,2010 he was 12!! He will be greatly missed, he was placed to rest under his favorite tree. This is a picture of me and Jack Hannah when he came to La Rue October 6,2010. He came to Pine Acres Reindeer farm, to learn more about Pine Acers vist their website www.pineacresreindeerfarm.com
